P's Birthday Present

Nine years ago yesterday, I went to the hospital to be induced at about 7 a.m. but I was already having contractions. My parents were going to meet us at the hospital later in the day and Tim's mom was driving down from Houston that morning. At about 9:30 I was dialated at a 3, by 10 a.m I was at 8. I called my mom and told her they needed to hurry, apparently they were still in the pj's cleaning house! The docs tried to give me an epidural, which resulted in only my legs being numbed. My parents got there right as I was starting to push and, at 11:35 a.m. P was born. Tim's mom got there as Tim was entering the waiting room giving everyone the good news. P was two weeks early, the docs wanted to induce me because they were afraid he was getting to big. Boy were they right! At 38 weeks he was 9 lbs 4 oz. Thank goodness he was me only son born au natural!
