Galveston Bound

P, J & I are headed to Galveston in the morning. I'm excited, even though I'm not a huge beach fan, I absolutely LOVE Galveston! I love the sea air, the Strand, the historic parts and the food! They also have a really cool army surplus store and they actually have a road named "Avenue O 1/2" I tried taking all three boys on a spur-of-the-moment, less than 12 hours in the planning trip a couple of weeks ago. I had good intentions, but E loves the water so much that it became EXTREMELY difficult to get him out of the ocean or keep him away from the pool. It's hard enough to carry a 4'6", 120 lb boy, but once you add water, sun block and a lack of clothing you begin to feel like you are wrestling with an octopus that bites! To add to the craziness of the trip, we stopped at Walmart to pick up some beach toys once we arrived and P decided it would be cool to try to pop a wheelie with E in his wheelchair. The wheelchair, E & P ended up on the floor and the wheelchair was temporarily out of commission as it broke and I didn't have the proper tools to fix it!

So, my parents have graciously volunteered to watch E until Monday so that me and the other two can go have a more relaxed beach trip. I'm super excited because now that E won't be with us I can go to my absolute favorite restaurant of all time! GAIDO's. For those of you who have never been to Galveston, Gaido's alone makes the trip worth while. For those of you who have been, I sure hope you went to Gaido's. It's a bit pricey, but worth every penny! My favorite...the Shrimp Bisque....mmmmm.... my mouth is already starting to water! I can't wait!
