I'm Having Motivation Problems
This comes from a company my brother introduced to me www.despair.com.
School starts tomorrow and I am completely unmotivated! This is a real problem because typically I start of the semester very motivated and kick butt the first several weeks. This allows me the opportunity to slack off a little towards the end. I have a feeling my plan won't work this semester. Maybe it's because I've been so incredibly busy at work, maybe it's because I know that my classes are going to be a lot harder this semester. Granted I'm only taking 6 hours, but on top of working full-time and trying to manage a household of boys, it can get a bit overwhelming.
Maybe I'll get a burst of energy tonight...I'm thinking I should go to bed now (5:30 pm), of course that's not going to happen, I have to at least wait until the kiddos are all in bed, 8:30 is a very good possibility.
What am I taking you ask? (Okay, I know that nobody is asking, but I'm going to post anyways, simply because I think it is entertaining.)
Disaster Response & Recovery - Theoretical examination and practical application of post-disaster management activities including human behavior in emergency situations, warning, evacuation, sheltering, triage, damage assessment, disaster declaration, debris removal, media relations, crisis counseling, individual and public assistance, and other relevant functions. Decision making, incident command, EOC operations, coordination and service delivery strategies are also discussed.
Hazard Mitigation & Preparedness - Theoretical examination and practical application of pre-disaster management activities including hazard and vulnerability analysis, structural and non-structural mitigation, capability assessment, planning, training, exercises and public education. Development planning, political advocacy and networking are heavily stressed.
I'm sure they don't sound near as interesting to you as they do to me. I actually think I'm going to enjoy this semester. I'm finally getting to the meat of my studies.

What's your degree going to be in? I have a friend with a degree in Emergency Management from UNT.....
Mines Emergency Mgt too. I actually want to get my Masters in Public Administration and that's the lead in program for that.
Oh good. I thought it was just me with the unmotivatedness. (not sure if that is really a word)
Can I call you when the aliens from Stephenville attack? That is an emergency, right?

If you need any info/notes/got questions, let me know! Ian has my email...
and, Streakin Iron, no they are not as fun as Dr Waymack's classes at TSU but much less arguing :)
Toni,
Nice to meet a fellow EADP major. I have Arlikatti (my second time with her & I love her) and Jennings. There are a couple projects that seem like they are going to be very interesting.
